Samsung new wearable chip can detect cardiac activity

Samsung has released a new wearable device chip, named Bio Processor (BP). It can keep track of the user's heart rate, can be applied to the areas of health, sports and everyday life.

Compared to the current wearable devices and smart phones, BP, heart rate tracking to be more precise, this is because it use electrocardiograms to detect the activity of the heart. The chip has a built-in Flash memory and Bluetooth, can be connected to the user's cell phone or other device. The only problem is, it needs to connect to the skin next to the heart to work properly.

For patients and professional athletes alike, continuous heart rate tracking is obviously good, but this chip also has a more mainstream potential. Through measurement of the pulse, BP will be able to identify the wearer's identity, which would turn it into a digital key that can be used to turn on your car or home, even for you automatically download personal information to the new device.

Although there are still limits the ability of this technology, but if Samsung can apply to BP wearable device, it may completely change the entire field of wearable
